Covid-19 Pandemic
Message from the Director during this Covid-19 crisis

Dear Friends,

We want you to know that Headway of WNY continues to be here for you. The Covid-19 Pandemic continues to affect all of us, and presents unprecedented challenges to people dealing with cognitive issues, aging and brain injury.

The Nursing Home and Transition Waiver and the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver programs are fully operational and we are conducting assessments by phone and virtual communication.

We have simplified our main contact phone number, and now the 716-408-3120 is the only number you need to contact us.

Please read the CDC FACTS ABOUT COVID-19 for the most accurate and up-to-date information about the virus. Additionally, we encourage you to follow the suggestions from the American Psychological Association (APA) contained in this publication - Self-care advice for health-care providers during Covid-19 .

We are available for guidance and direction regarding TBI and other cognitive disorders, however; due to decreased staffing in the office, callers may need to leave a message and await a call back. Please be assured that if you leave a message, your call will be returned. All calls are held in strict confidence and deleted once answered. Our Peer Support and Caregiver Support meetings are now available through virtual contact.

We are planning on presenting some of our educational and special events virtually, and are using telehealth, which is now available by appointment, and can be found HERE.

Please continue to check our website headwayofwny.org for important updates during this crisis.

We know that this is a time of high stress, but we believe that together we will find our way to a resolution. We are looking forward to exciting and helpful services from Headway in the near future.

Thank you for your ongoing support and consideration.

Sincerely,

Ronald Fernández RRDS, CRC, LMHC
