We are a support and advocacy agency for persons with brain injuries and other disabilities and the Regional Resource Center/Single Point of Entry for the Department of Health’s Nursing Home Transition and Diversion Waiver and the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver.

There are no words to express the fears, anguish and despair of traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivers and their families.

Every twenty-one seconds, someone in the United States sustains a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

The effects can be devastating for the survivors, as well as their families and friends.  It can rob a family of a loved one they knew and return bring pain, sorrow, devastation and a life of incredible struggle.  Each year 230,000 persons are hospitalized with traumatic brain injury and survive.

Since 1985, Headway of Western New York has been there to help.  We are a volunteer support, advocacy and resource organization, founded by caring families and individuals who have survived brain injury and other disabilities.  We are a not-for-profit agency that provides support groups, educational materials, in-service seminars, recreational opportunities, resource and referral services as well as linkage for case management and more.
